Lennar Announces Entry Into The Pacific Northwest, In Both The Seattle And Portland Markets

Lennar Corporation announced today the company is expanding its homebuilding operations into the Pacific Northwest, in both the Seattle and Portland markets. Lennar acquired control of approximately 650 finished homesites in 20 communities, for an undisclosed price, from Seattle-based Premier Communities. A privately-held company led by Ryan McGowan, Premier Communities has delivered more than 1,600 homes in the Seattle area since 1998. These communities are ideally situated with home prices ranging from approximately $150,000 to $460,000. Mr. McGowan will be responsible for Lennar’s operations in Seattle. Mr. McGowan stated, “Lennar and Premier Communities share a common commitment to provide the highest standard of quality homes and services to our buyers. We are excited for the significant potential of combining our local strengths and relationships with Lennar’s balance sheet and operating efficiencies.” Lennar’s start-up operations in Portland are being led by Ryan Selby, a 22-year Portland homebuilding veteran. Mr. Selby comes to Lennar from D.R. Horton where he served as Division President for nine years. Under Mr. Selby’s leadership, Lennar has been able to purchase primarily distressed finished homesites in 11 communities. Homes to be built by Lennar in the Portland area will be focused on first-time, move-up, active adult and luxury homebuyers. These two new opportunities are expected to add approximately 200 deliveries in the second half of 2012. Jon Jaffe, Lennar’s Chief Operating Officer, stated “We are excited to be bringing our Lennar Everything’s Included Homes to the Pacific Northwest. We have been evaluating the Seattle and Portland markets for more than a decade and believe that this is a perfect time to enter these markets with the right opportunities. Both Seattle and Portland are currently benefiting from diversified economies and stabilizing home prices, and combined with the local experience of Ryan McGowan and Ryan Selby, we are well positioned to grow a successful Pacific Northwest homebuilding operation in 2012 and beyond.” The move into the Pacific Northwest is the first entry by Lennar into a new market since entering Atlanta as a start-up operation in early 2010. Lennar Reignites “Everything’s Included” Marketing Platform Across The Nation

Lennar, one of the nation’s leading homebuilders since 1954, has announced that it is reigniting its Everything’s Included marketing platform across the nation. Lennar’s goal with Everything’s Included is to ensure that Lennar homes always offer the very best value in every market in which they build, by targeting the options and upgrades that are most desirable to its customers, and including them as standard in the price of the home.

Originally created by Lennar in the early 1990s, the Everything’s Included home buying concept helped to uniquely position Lennar in the homebuilding industry, compared to other builders who typically offer optional features on an a la carte basis, sometimes significantly adding to the overall price of the home. Lennar simplifies the process by including the most desired features at no extra charge.

After asking thousands of homebuyers over the past several years what features and upgrades they wanted most, Lennar simply included them. Lennar’s homeowners have indicated that they truly appreciate the ease of the process of purchasing an Everything’s Included Home, with the finest features and a great value already included.

As Lennar reignites its Everything’s Included Homes platform, it is also enhancing the meaning of Everything’s Included by including more quality green homebuilding practices and energy efficiency features – offering its homebuyers a better way to buy a home, and a better way to live in a home.

In an online survey, a select group of Lennar’s potential new homebuyers were asked to select their favorite from six new logo designs. Nearly 2,400 people participated in the survey, selecting the one Everything’s Included Homes logo they felt was the most appealing, the most memorable, and that best communicated that Lennar is a builder focused on providing the best in quality, luxury and green homebuilding practices for the best value. The new “ei” Everything’s Included Homes logo that was selected by Lennar’s customers is the basis for the new brand identity Lennar is launching today.

In appreciation of its customers for taking the time to complete the survey, each participant was automatically entered into a drawing for the chance to win a $500 American Express Gift Card. Somehow, we just knew that 1/11/11 would turn out to be a very special day. And this afternoon, all of us at Lennar were proud to reach a new milestone, with 25,000 “likes” for our Facebook page by Lennar fans across the country.

Since we began our Lennar presence on Facebook in August of 2008, we’ve had the privilege of learning more about our fans, our homeowners and our potential new customers. Facebook has made it quick and easy for Associates in our company to interact, share news and information, and have some fun together with our fans. In addition to our Lennar company page, Lennar’s homebuilding Divisions are also growing their own numbers of fans for their market pages and individual community pages on Facebook.
